34-year-recent super middleweight contender Adonis Stevenson (seventeen-one, fourteen KO’s) can be fighting contender Noe Gonzalez Alcoba (28-1, 20 KO’s) in a twelve spherical bout at the Bell Centre, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. This isn’t the fight that Stevenson wished, as he was hoping to take on former two time title challenger Librado Andrade. Gonzalez, 32, fought for a world title in June 2007, losing by a 12 round unanimous decision to WBA World middleweight champion Felix Sturm in an exceedingly one-sided loss. Gonzalez doesn’t have something really special concerning him to warrant him being ranked at #three WBC above Stevenson #thirteen WBC, Piotr Wilcwzewski #fourteen, Edwin Rodriguez #5, George Groves #vi, James DeGale #8, Tommy Oosthuizen #9, and Renan St. Juste #ten. It’s simply another one of those weird rankings that the WBC generally comes up with because as way as I can tell, Gonzalez belongs around the middle of the pack within the 2nd tier, not at #3 by the WBC. But it’s smart for Stevenson because he will another easy win to assist pump up his rankings. At thirty four, Stevenson very has to hurry up his career in a massive manner if he desires to pressure the champions in to giving him a s title shot. Stevenson’s career was going well until he was stopped within the 2nd round by journeyman puncher Darnell Boone in June 2010. Although Stevenson has won his last four fights since then, the wins have come back against beatable 2nd tier opposition. Stevenson has smart power but his chin is questionable and he’s going to possess huge issues when he faces guys at super middleweight that can take his power like Andre Ward, Carl Froch and Lucian Bute and answer back with power shots of their own. Stevenson is a puncher, not a boxer and he’s visiting be over his head once he fights those guys.
